Ready for what’s next

Our goal is simple: provide useful insights you can put into practice straight away

Staying ahead starts with knowing what’s next. In this issue, we explore the latest trends (pages 6 - 7), present our collections (pages 8 - 17) and highlight some of our best-selling products (pages 32 - 35).

But success in today’s market is about more than products alone. Customer expectations evolve, regulations multiply, technologies advance and trends arrive faster than ever. Getting the fundamentals right: that idea runs throughout these pages. For this issue, we spoke to resellers from across Europe. Different

countries, different markets, different customers. Yet their concerns and challenges sound surprisingly

familiar (pages 18 - 22). We also look at how modern outerwear is becoming lighter and smarter (pages 52 - 54). And you’ll find guidance on sustainability, not as a buzzword, but as a business reality (pages 36 - 38). New legislation, increasing transparency requirements and changing customer expectations are creating both challenges and opportunities for resellers. And since fun is also important, we’re taking a moment to honour an industry icon: Tee Jays is celebrating its 50th anniversary (pages 50 - 51). Our goal is simple: provide useful insights you can put into practice straight away. Because a good supplier delivers products. A great partner helps you navigate what comes next.

Colour of the Year 2027: Luminous Blue

It’s raining fashion

Spotted on the runway for AW 26: ready-to-rainwear, the chicest response to unpredictable weather. Think lacquered trench coats, sculptural anoraks, waterproof accessories and puddle-proof boots. The message is clear: practical doesn’t have to be boring. With weatherproof fashion, we are finally accepting that the weather forecast rarely cares about our outfit. Is it going to rain today? Who cares...we’re prepared, come rain or shine. Are you prepared for waterproof orders?

Trend forecaster WGSN has officially named ‘Luminous Blue’ as its ‘Colour of the Year 2027’. This vibrant shade radiates a sense of connection and optimism, bridging the gap between tradition and innovation. The colour is reminiscent of lapis lazuli, the semi-precious stone that has served as a source of inspiration for a rich blue pigment for centuries. It’s also reminiscent of cobalt, a key ingredient in the lithium-ion batteries driving the current energy transition. This mysterious and eccentric shade is gender-inclusive, season-less, and pairs effortlessly with both formal wear and sportswear. See the Falk&Ross range for all shades of bright blue.

MEET OUR CREW IN FRANCE

Athleisure is back (again!) A fashion trend that combines comfort, simplicity and style? It’s easy to understand why athleisure is popular. The trend is all about clean lines, sports- inspired silhouettes and technical fabrics that perform as well on the street as they do on the sports field. Athleisure isn’t going anywhere, it’s evolving into ‘Elevated Athleisure’: less lounge, more luxury. Think tank tops, minimal jackets, hoodies, seamless fits, breathable fabrics and refined basics. For resellers, it’s an important category, since

the athleisure market is valued around 400 billion euros in 2026 with projections of growth to 780 billion by 2033.

I develop client’s portfolios, a job in which interpersonal skills and advisory work are key. In a climate of trust we can build solid and lasting relationships. At the moment, a lot is changing at Falk&Ross, and I am convinced the efforts will soon bear fruit. I’m very excited about that, because that makes my role even more dynamic. Bon voyage! Malik Djebaili, Field Sales Representative at Falk&Ross When in France… Cities like Paris are unmissable, but the country’s true charm also lies in its villages, markets and cultural diversity. Don’t hesitate to chat with the locals, visit local shops and immerse yourself in everyday life: that’s often the best way to understand the French way of life. My personal favourite to visit is Mont-Saint-Michel . It really is a spectacular sight: a medieval abbey perched on a rocky islet, surrounded by some of the most impressive tides in Europe.

Interviews with resellers Threads of Change

From Belgium to Spain, France and Italy, four experienced industry players shared their views with us on what is changing, what keeps them awake at night and what it takes to stay competitive. Despite operating in different countries and serving different customer segments, all four resellers identified similar challenges for the future of their business. Also, while trends come and go, resellers remain focused on the fundamentals: delivering quality products, on time and at the right price.

Make & Mark (France): selling solutions, not just T-shirts

Printcity (Belgium): a trusted relationship

When Théo Girard joined Make & Mark six years ago as an intern, the company was still a small operation producing phone cases and embroidery. Today, it has evolved into a full-service branding and merchandise agency, offering everything from textile decoration and promotional products to graphic design and web development. “Clients want simplicity,” Théo explains. “Rather than coordinating multiple sup- pliers, businesses increasingly prefer a single partner who can guide them from concept to delivery. “Our customers can see and feel our products in our showroom, so they know what they’ll get before they leave,” says Théo. “There are no unpleasant surprises. They choose, we order, we receive the apparel the following day, and the day after the client can pick up the order.” An important pressure point is price. “Clients want Balenciaga quality, but not the Balenciaga price.” Advice: “Balance innovation with realism. Embrace new technologies when they prove their value, not simply because they are new.”

After 45 years in business, Printcity has become one of Belgium’s most established textile decoration specialists. With screen printing, embroidery, transfers and packaging all managed in-house, the company prides itself on maintaining control over every stage of production. For Jirky Thys, success begins with trust. The showroom plays a central role, allowing customers to touch fabrics, compare fits and see exactly what they are buying before production begins. Despite technological change, Jirky believes human relationships are becoming more valuable, not less. “We don’t sell products,” he says. “We’re advisers. We help customers find the right solution within their budget. We also invest heavily in sustainability, from certifications and energy-saving measures right down to the toilet paper. When clients notice our efforts, their trust grows.”

Advice: “Whatever you do, do what gives you energy. Stay curious, keep learning and be open to feedback.”

19

Théo Girard: “The pressure point is deadlines. In the event sector for example, delivery dates are non- negotiable. Will the deliveries arrive on time? Will the quality be right? We had an incident with a batch of bags that turned out smaller than the previous batch. We arranged a solution fast, but we lost money on the project.”

What keeps them awake at night?

Teefactory (Spain): experience meets adaptation

Few people can claim as much experience in customised textiles as Ángel Fernández Prats. Having founded Teefactory more than four decades ago, in 1981, he has witnessed the industry’s transformation first-hand. Today, the company serves customers across Spain, France, Belgium, Italy and Portugal from its headquarters near Barcelona, offering embroidery, screen printing, DTG, DTF and sublimation services. Ángel sees a wide range of customer priorities in the B2B sector. “Some focus on price, others on quality, and an increasing number are interested in organic and sustainable products.” For him, the biggest challenge is adaptation. “Artificial intelligence, multi- national competition and evolving European regulations are all reshaping the business landscape. The key,” he believes, “is staying ahead of change rather than reacting to it.” Advice: “Work with passion, don’t rush success and learn from your mistakes and those of others.”

Ángel Fernández: “Staff management is a big concern for us. It’s difficult nowadays to find good coworkers. The younger generations seem to think that working is incompatible with being happy.”

Jirky Thys: “Consistency remains the industry’s greatest challenge. A colour variation, an incorrect size label or a different fit between production batches can quickly create expensive problems. Good quality and consistency are the most important criteria for blank apparel. If 10 pieces in a delivery have defects, the entire project may need to be restarted.”

20

Blank apparel 5 challenges

Sustainability Sustainability is no longer optional, but it remains a balancing act. What makes it a challenge, is the growing number of certificates. It’s hard to understand the criteria and differences between all the labels and certificates. Greenwashing and lack of transparency only make matters worse. Plus: sustainability means different things to different people. It’s a challenge to keep up, and communicate the differences to customers. Artificial Intelligence AI is creating new challenges, as customers arrive with increasingly ambitious concepts that are not always technically feasible. Managing customer expectations is becoming part of the job. Foreign competition Price pressure remains intense, particularly from China where customers can order apparel for a fraction of the price. Sometimes the quality can be surprisingly good, but it can just as easily be a let-down. You never know in advance. People are often dissatisfied with the value for money, the inconsistent quality and the delivery speed (or lack thereof). Customers often return after discovering that the cheapest option is not always the best one. Consistency Most labels struggle with consistency in colour, sizing and fit. The sample can be perfect, but will the thousand pieces be identical after production? These differences in delivery batches can be very costly to resellers.

Speed People want to order today and pick up their order tomorrow. Fast delivery is no longer a bonus; it has become an expectation.

Through a carefully curated collection of trusted brands, strong stock availability and practical product information, Falk&Ross helps you compete on value and service rather than price alone. We also offer sampling opportunities . Checking fit, colour and quality upfront helps avoid surprises later. Read more on page 31.

Twicetoonice (Italy): beyond the logo

At Twicetoonice, a T-shirt is never just a T-shirt. The Italian company specialises in customised collections for brands and artists, combining technical expertise with creative development. Stefano Falco: “Our typical client is a brand seeking reliability, speed and a level of customisation that goes beyond simple printing. Clients no longer want basic logo decoration; they want garments that reflect their identity. That demand is driving interest in more sustain- able fabrics, advanced customisation techniques and sophisticated product development.” Twicetoonice is always prepared for the future. “When it comes to innovation, we tend to be early adopters when we see a real benefit in terms of quality or productivity; not to ‘be the first’, but because speed is now essential to remain competitive.” Advice: “Learn the product before the price. If you can’t tell the difference between a seam that will last 50 washes and one that comes apart after the second, you’ll lose customers and margin. And always reply within 24 hours: in B2B, speed often beats price.”

Clients no longer want basic logo decoration; they want garments that reflect their identity

Stefano Falco (Twicetoonice)

Stefano Falco : “Production cycles are shrinking, collections are smaller, more frequent and expected faster than ever before. Balancing quality with speed has become one of the company’s biggest challenges.”

#1 smart idea to

run your business

the insider’s playbook

Less but better. Fewer styles, more possibilities

In today’s market, bigger collections don’t mean better business. Successful assortments are built around fewer, more versatile products that work across multiple projects, markets and customer needs. This approach helps simplify stock management, forecasting and customer decision-making. Instead of multiplying similar styles, focusing on reliable core pieces with modern fits, strong colour ranges, inclusive sizing and excellent decoration performance improves business performance. Fewer, more versatile styles can answer needs across merchandising, corporatewear, events, teamwear and even retail. Versatility also creates consistency. Products that coordinate easily across categories, from T-shirts and sweats to outerwear, allow your customers to build more coherent looks while simplifying repeat orders. Importantly, “less, but better” doesn’t mean offering less choice. It means offering a smarter choice: carefully selected products designed to cover more uses, more customers and more decoration needs with greater efficiency. In a fast-moving market, streamlined assortments built around versatile essentials can help you stay agile, commercial and easier to do business with.

Good decisions drive good business. From product choices to ordering strategies, here are some practical hacks, useful facts and answers to the questions resellers ask most.

28

#2 smart idea to

run your business

Offering a responsible collection is a smart business move

A responsible collection is no longer just about sustainability messaging. Increasingly, it’s becoming a practical business advantage. Across Europe, regulations are evolving quickly. From traceability expectations and recycled fibre claims to PFAS restrictions and environmental reporting requirements, brands and buyers are under growing pressure to understand exactly what sits behind the products they sell. Offering more responsible apparel helps businesses prepare for these changes with greater confidence. But compliance is only part of the picture. Reputation now plays a major role in purchasing decisions, particularly for corporatewear, merchandising, events and retail. Customers increasingly want products that reflect their own values, whether that means recycled materials, more responsible cotton sourcing, verified certifications or transparent supply chains. This creates a real commercial opportunity. A responsible collection can help strengthen customer trust, support premium positioning and open doors to new projects where sustainability expectations are already part of the brief. Importantly, modern responsible apparel no longer means compromising on style, comfort or decoration performance. Advances in recycled fibres, fabric engineering and traceability now allow products to combine strong printability, durability and lower-impact materials in ways that were far more difficult only a few years ago. Responsible collections can also help simplify conversations with customers. Certifications, traceability tools and recognised standards provide clearer answers to increasingly common questions around sourcing, compliance and product impact. In a fast-changing market, offering responsible products is becom - ing less about following trends and more about staying relevant, credible and commercially competitive for the long term.

A responsible collection is no longer a sustainability statement. It’s a business advantage.

Everything you need to know about ...

What yarn count, filament count and fabric weight really tell you about fabric quality

Behind every fabric are technical details that shape how a garment feels, performs and decorates. Three of the most impor- tant are yarn count, filament count and fabric weight (GSM). Why do yarn and filament counts matter? Yarn count measures how fine or thick a yarn is. Higher yarn counts use finer yarns to create smoother, tighter, softer fabric surfaces. For decoration, this is essential: cleaner surfaces help deliver sharper prints, better ink definition and cleaner embroidery results. In fleece fabrics, filament count plays a major role. Filaments are the tiny fibres inside the yarn itself. Higher filament count fleece fabrics use more, finer filaments. Modern polyester micro- fleece now delivers warmth, durability and decoration performance in lightweight garments. In general, finer yarns help create cleaner surfaces and sharper decoration results, especially for printing. What about fabric weight? Grams per metre 2 (GSM) measure fabric weight, indicating thickness, warmth and structure, making it more closely linked to product usage than fabric quality itself.

A quick guide: A lightweight summer t-shirt, midweight polo and heavyweight hoodie can all be premium products. The real quality difference comes from the yarns used to build the fabric.

30

100–150 GSM = lightweight 150–250 GSM = midweight 250+ GSM = heavyweight

#3 smart idea to

run your business

Everything you need to know about ...

Stop guessing, start sampling

What really makes a fabric easy to print?

The fastest way to make better product choices? Get the garment in your hands. Whether you’re preparing a merchandising project, teamwear programme, corporatewear order or Print-on-Demand (POD) collection, samples help remove uncertainty before committing to larger quantities. Test before you invest Samples allow you to test decoration techniques, assess print and embroidery results, compare colours, check fabric quality and evaluate sizing and fit. A style that looks perfect on screen can feel very different in reality, making samples an invaluable tool when choosing between products. Help your customers decide Samples are also a powerful sales tool. Sharing physical products with customers helps bring ideas to life, builds confidence and supports better choices. Seeing the colour, feeling the fabric and even trying on the garment often speeds up approval and reduces the risk of costly mistakes later. Find the right product for the job A lightweight t-shirt may be perfect for summer merchandise, while a heavier style or sweatshirt may be better suited to teamwear, events or long-term workwear use. Comparing products side by side makes it easier to match the product to the application. Not sure which style is right for your project? Contact your local Falk&Ross team to learn more about sampling options. Because when it comes to decoration, quality, colour, fit and customer satisfaction, seeing is believing.

Great decoration starts long before the print itself. Fabric construction, fibre type and surface smoothness all influence how sharp, vibrant and durable a print will look. One of the biggest factors is the fabric surface . Smooth, tight and stable fabrics produce cleaner print results because inks sit more evenly on the material. Fabrics made with finer yarns create flatter surfaces with less texture, helping improve detail, colour definition and consistency. Cotton remains one of the easiest fibres to print. Its natural absorbency allows inks to penetrate well, making it ideal for screen printing, DTG and transfers. Ringspun cotton fabrics are especially valued for their softer, smoother surfaces and cleaner decoration results. Polyester behaves differently. Because it is synthetic, it requires specialised inks and controlled curing temperatures to avoid dye migration, where garment colour can bleed into the print. Modern polyester performance fabrics, however, are increasingly engineered for decoration. Blended fabrics combine the strengths of both fibres. Cotton-polyester blends balance softness, durability, stability and print performance. Many premium sweat fabrics use a smooth cotton face for decoration while polyester inside the fabric improves strength and shape retention. Surface texture also matters. Smooth jersey fabrics allow sharper logos and cleaner edges, while heavily textured piqué or brushed fleece surfaces can reduce fine detail. In the end, great printability starts with the fabric engineering behind the garment itself. (More information on textile innovations in outerwear on page 52.)

The future of blank apparel is transparent Sustainability without stress

Sustainability is no longer a niche selling point in the apparel industry. Across Europe, regulations are tightening, clients are asking tougher questions and a new generation of buyers expects transparency as a given. At Falk&Ross, sustainability is becoming part of the way we work every day. Through detailed sustainability mapping and practical guidance, we want to help resellers stay compliant, competitive and ready for what comes next.

F or years, sustainability in quickly becoming a business require- ment. Across Europe, legislation is changing fast and customers are paying more attention to where products come from, how they are made and what happens to them at the end of their life. At Falk&Ross, we believe resellers should not have to manage this shift alone. That’s why we have started a large-scale sustainability mapping project across apparel was mainly seen as a marketing story. Today, it’s

our brand portfolio. Every brand we work with is asked to provide information on materials, certifi- cations, social audits, environmental policies, packaging compliance and production processes. This infor- mation is reviewed, verified and tracked in a central database. Evolution = adaptation This process is not a one-off exercise. We continue working closely with brands to monitor progress and support them with future compliance

requirements. The goal is simple: to create a clearer overview of how brands perform on sustainability and compliance, while helping them improve where needed. In particular, many non-EU brands are looking for guidance to understand upcoming European regulations. Ready or not, regulation is here Why is this important for resellers? Because your customers are becoming increasingly demanding.

36

They want to know where and how products are made, whether packaging complies with local rules and if brands can support sustainability claims with reliable information. At the same time, European legislation is moving quickly. In France, for example, the AGEC law already requires TRIMAN sorting information on packaging, together with details about key production stages. Similar regulations are appearing across Europe.

expectations rather than added value. This is why Falk&Ross wants to go beyond compliance alone. We are working on a practical sustainability and legal roadmap to help both brands and resellers understand what is required today and what is coming next. The future starts now Several brands in our portfolio are already leading the way with certified materials, verified audits

They are more likely to check where products are made, what materials are used and even whether brands can prove their claims. This generation is also strongly connected to the maker economy: creators, online shops, print-on- demand businesses and person- alised merchandise. For many of these future clients, transparency and responsible sourcing will influence buying decisions just as much as price or style. For resellers, this means sustainability is no longer only about compliance. It is also becoming a sales argument and a way to build long-term trust with the next generation of customers.

Falk&Ross started a large-scale sustainability mapping project across its brand portfolio

( For more information on the regu- lations, see next page) Businesses that are not prepared risk delays, extra costs or even losing access to certain markets. The next generation The pressure will only increase. Gen Alpha, the next generation of consumers and entrepreneurs, already expects sustainability to be the standard. Transparency, traceability and responsible sourcing will become basic

and measurable environmental data. Others are still progressing. Our role is to support that journey and help resellers make informed choices with confidence. The direction of the market is clear. Sustainability is becoming the price of entry for doing business in Europe. By preparing now, resellers can stay competi- tive, build trust with clients and remain ready for the next stage of the industry.

Regulations resellers should know about Sustainability in Europe

What’s coming next is not optional reading, but essential background information for future-proof business practices. Below is a quick overview of the EU regulations shaping the rules of the sustainability game, affecting blank apparel resellers today and tomorrow.

PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation): New EU packaging rules aim to reduce waste and improve recyclability. Packaging requirements will become stricter between 2026 and 2030. EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility): Whoever places packaging on the market is responsible for its end-of-life impact. This may require registering with national EPR schemes and paying fees, depending on your role in the supply chain. Rules differ by country. Already active in several EU countries. Expanding under PPWR from 2026. CSDDD (Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive): Companies must identify and address human rights and environmental risks across their entire supply chain. In practice, large companies will require suppliers to prove compliance through audits and documentation. Without proof, you risk being excluded from supplier lists. Already in force for large companies in some EU countries, phased EU rollout starts in 2027.

CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive): Companies must report on their environmental and social impact. This means many customers will increasingly request sustainability data from suppliers and resellers. Already in force for large companies, expansion continues from 2026. Green Claims Directive: Sustainability claims such as “eco-friendly” or “green” will need verified proof. Greenwashing could become a legal risk from 2027. AGEC (Anti-Waste for a Circular Economy): Products sold in France must comply with TRIMAN labelling and traceability require- ments. The law also bans the destruction of unsold goods and requires improved product traceability by indicating the countries where the last three production stages (knitting, dyeing and CMT) took place. Only in France. Already active.

This summer, Falk&Ross turned up the volume on customer connections, quite literally. Together with resellers and colleagues, the team headed to Tomorrowland under the same motto as the festival: Let’s unite. In a world built on music, storytelling and shared experiences, the real headline was connection. Conversations started over drinks, continued in front of the mainstage and carried on after the final set. Guests received a specially designed goodiebag featuring a hoodie, T-shirt, cap and windbreaker. The bold design included subtle variations in print techniques, proving how premium apparel can unite people, brands and ideas in one memorable experience.

My job involves acquiring new clients, negotiating prices and contracts, closing deals and building customer loyalty. I love my job because of the human contact and because every day is different. I’ve given a lot to my work, but Falk&Ross has always given back. I’ve also worked for Falk&Ross in Spain and Germany. What struck me was that the French are more direct, critical and demanding than in other countries. When in France… France has a rich cultural heritage and an unrivalled quality of life. In France, meals and time spent at the table have real cultural significance. So keep enjoying good food! My top tip for France: visit Lake Annecy to relax and explore the romantic old town of Annecy with its peaceful and elegant atmosphere. And don’t forget to install Google Translate, as very few people here speak English.

Happy 50th anniversary Tee Jays!

From garage to manufacturing powerhouse

Terry’s motto was ‘concentrate and dominate’. He understood the importance of a limited, curated product selection and excelled at it.

To this day, the founders’ names are still represented by the two capital letters in the logo.

What began in a small Alabama garage has grown into a European premium apparel brand defined by craftsman- ship and attention to detail. This year, Tee Jays celebrates its 50th anniversary.

The garage with 25 sewing machines soon grew into a fully vertically integrated production facility encompassing knitting, dyeing, cutting, sewing and screen printing. In 1979, Terry met Danish importer Georg Høfler at a trade show in California. He appointed Georg as the European sales manager. Georg and Terry became lifelong friends.

Two friends, Terry and Jim, founded TEE JAYS Mfg. Co. Their adventure began in a garage in Florence, Alabama, where they focused on producing high-quality T-shirts. They started with 25 old sewing machines, local fabrics and a great deal of passion. Although Jim decided to leave the company after a few years, Terry Wylie continued to pursue the dream.

Happy 50th anniversary Tee Jays!

Based in Svenstrup, Denmark, Tee Jays proudly serves the European market from its state-of-the-art 12,000 m² warehouse.

Tee Jays became known for high-quality blanks used for printing, and collaborations with major entertainment brands in the music industry.

1980 > 1990 2003

2026

In addition to high-quality apparel, Tee Jays now specialises in professional decoration services, including embroidery and print- ing. Their commitment to quality and responsible fabrics is reflected in two distinct collections: the Signature Collection and the Unlabeled Collection. The first focuses on branded corporate wear, while the second provides blank garments for merchandising and branding.

When Terry decided to sell his life’s work, the company was acquired by Georg and Peter Høfler. Tee Jays’ operations and identity shifted to Denmark, and the brand transitioned into a premium European apparel label. The product range expanded beyond T-shirts to include polo shirts, hoodies, jackets, and shirts.

Tee Jays developed into the fifth-largest T-shirt manufacturer in the US, with 4,000 employees, 19 production facilities and millions of T-shirts worldwide. The new logo was created by a Danish artist, commissioned by Georg.
