Size (still) matters
Size still matters, across the wardrobe. Oversized blazers, roomy knits, flowing dresses and wide-leg pants set the tone. In 2026, oversized tees and sweatshirts are still running the show, offering the perfect balance between style and comfort. So stock up on oversized fits to avoid being left with small sizes that aren’t in demand. Because oversized apparel isn’t going anywhere it’s flying off the shelves.

Fifty shades of teal
Unisex vs gender- neutral: what’s the difference?
The trend watchers at WGSN, in collaboration with Coloro, have predicted the trend colour of 2026: Transformative Teal. The fluid fusion of deep blue and aqua green symbolises renewal, restoration and sustainability. This eco-conscious mindset is shared by Falk&Ross. We’re always striving for the next certification towards a sustainable future, so we’re fully on board with teal. But why stop there? Let teal evolve into a full green spectrum, from bottle and moss to emerald and soft sea glass. Think of it as Fifty Shades of Teal.
Unisex pieces are born from men’s patterns, giving that easy, relaxed fit we know so well. They’re made to work for anyone, but the shape still leans towards masculine. Gender-neutral styles flip that idea, designed from scratch with proportions carefully rethought: balanc- ing shoulder width, body length and hip allowance so the lines are fluid, the fit is inclusive and the look is unmistakably modern. It’s not about borrowing clothes from a man’s wardrobe, it’s about creating unique styles that suit everyone. Interested in gender- neutral styles? Discover B&C’s gender-neutral tees, polos, sweats and outerwear.

My love for Liège waffles runs in the family
Manu Mathys, Marketing Lead at Falk&Ross
I’m a huge fan of Liège waffles. I’m Flemish myself, but my grandfather was from Liège which is probably where my love for waffles comes from. I spent many years working in Brazil and even considered starting a business there selling Liège waffles. It didn’t pan out that way though. I still visit São Paulo whenever I can so who knows? Maybe it’ll happen some day. Meanwhile, I indulge in waffles at Gaston, or even better, I make them myself, following my grandfather’s cherished recipe. Why certified recycled fibres matter more than ever
from waste to wardrobe
18
Recycled fibres are everywhere these days, from T-shirts to tote bags, but not all recycled fabrics are created equal. So how do you know what’s truly sustainable? Certified recycled fibres take things further. Standards such as the Textile Exchange Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) confirm that materials, processes and the people behind the garment meet strict environmental and social criteria. Or in other words, true sustainability you can trust.
non-material sourcing to production. They confirm the recycled content, ensure reduced environmental impact and protect workers’ rights. Without certification, claims of sustainability may sound convincing, but there’s no guarantee of traceability or real impact. Certified recycled fibres turn claims into commitments you and your customers can trust. Confidence starts with knowing what you’re selling. Modern certified recycled fabrics make that easy. They’re soft, durable and print beautifully across all major techniques, i.e. screen printing, heat transfers, DTG and DTF (depending on the blend and the garment). That means you can offer sus- tainable garments without compromising on creativity, colour accuracy or finish quality. With certified recycled fibres you can trust every claim. Every product comes with verified proof of its sustainable performance, giving you and your customers the reassur- ance that what’s recycled is genuinely responsible, not just branded that way. And that confidence is only growing. Across Europe, more styles are being made with certified recycled fibres, from t-shirts and sweatshirts to outerwear and accessories, offering you more choice, more flexibility and more ways to meet customer expec- tations. Certified recycled means certified reliable
R ecycled fabrics have gone from niche to mainstream, showing up in everything from sportswear to shopping bags. But what does ‘recycled’ really mean, and why does certification matter? A closer look at recycled fibres Recycled fibres start life as waste that would otherwise end up in landfills or oceans, i.e. plastic bottles, fishing nets, old garments, spinning waste or textile clip-cuts. These materials are collected, sorted, cleaned and transformed into new high-quality fibres ready to be spun into soft, durable fabrics. But the term ‘recycled’ can be a grey area for fabrics, as there are no formal minimum requirements when a product isn’t certified. Although misleading claims are illegal and transparency about the recycled content is expected, there’s no certainty. Certifications such as the Textile Ex - change Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) are independently verified by certification bodies (CB) at every step of the process, from
19
In a trust-driven market certified recycled fibres give you, and your customers, confidence in every stitch
Here’s how polyester, nylon and cotton are given a second life
The EU is pushing the Circular Economy Act that should come into force in 2028- 2029. As Europe tightens its sustainability laws, certification also keeps you compliant. Verified data helps you stay ahead of regulations such as the EU Green Claims Directive and the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, which includes Digital Product Passport requirements. In a market where trust is everything, certified recycled fibres give you, and your customers, confi - dence in every stitch. Looking ahead Behind the scenes, recycling technologies are moving fast. Advanced chemical and textile-to-textile processes are creating fibres that perform like new, even from complex blends. EU legislation will also push for textile-to-textile recycling, further accelerating these developments. The result? Consistent quality, reliable durability and less dependence on virgin materials. Demand is growing and certification helps separate hype from reality. At Falk&Ross, we make responsible choices easy. Our assortment features certified recycled styles from trusted brands such as B&C, Tee Jays, Result, Regatta and Beechfield. A full range of sustainable, high-quality and print-ready options. Apparel made from certified recycled fibres isn’t just better for the planet, it’s also smart business for you. By making sustainable choices, you can set your business apart in a competitive and value-driven market.
Recycled polyester leads the way in blank apparel. Made from post-consumer PET bottles or pre-consumer production waste, it saves up to 45% energy, 20% water and 30% CO 2 compared to virgin polyester . Considering polyester makes up nearly 60% of global fibre production, switching to recycled versions can have a major environmental impact. Even if fibre fragmentation and micro plastic release remain a challenge for the industry. It’s also durable, colourfast and easy to print on. Recycled nylon, often sourced from discarded fishing nets, corporate carpet recycling or pre-consumer industrial waste, is reborn into smooth, strong yarns for outerwear, bags or performance wear. Some new technologies, like the unique composition of Nylon 6 * , for example, allow for endless recycling, keeping it in circulation instead of landfill. Then there’s recycled cotton created from pre-consumer cutting scraps or post-consumer garments. It gives textile waste a valuable second life, though its naturally shorter fibres can make fabrics slightly rougher or less uniform, thus affecting print detail. That’s why it’s often blended with recycled polyester or conven- tional cotton for strength, softness and consistent print results. Certi- fied under GRS or RCS, it’s a big step toward circular textiles.
The bottom line
For you, offering apparel made from certified recycled fibres isn’t just good for the planet, it’s smart business. It combines verified sustainability with the performance and comfort your customers expect. By choosing certified styles, you can help your customers tell authentic, eco- conscious brand stories and set your business apart in

#1 smart idea to
run your business
Cross-sell like a pro, from tees to accessories
the insider’s playbook Here’s your shortcut to selling like a pro. From stocking smarter to knowing what’s really up with PFAS, we’ve rounded up the hacks and hot questions from within the blank apparel reseller’s world.
Want to make more sales with your existing customers? Cross-selling is your easy growth hack. The trick: link items your customers already love and sprinkle in some creative extras. Spot the match. A customer ordering polos for a team? Suggest hoodies, jackets or bags. T-shirts for an event? Add caps, beanies or totes in the same colour for a perfect pairing. Think beyond the obvious. Pair light tees with mid-weight jackets for layered looks. Suggest accessories that reinforce branding, like backpacks, scarves or even gloves. Mix styles for different occasions: polos + jogpants + caps for events and team activities. Make it visual. Bundles or ‘’complete the look’’ suggestions spark ideas and make upsells natural. Play the benefit. Customers get ready-made outfits, coordinated teamwear or event kits. You get bigger orders, higher margins and repeat business. Keep it simple. Focus on 2-3 complementary items per order, simplicity sells better than choice overload. Cross-selling will help you turn one order into a mini-collection. With Falk&Ross’s broad assortment of garments, accessories and event essentials, the possibilities are endless. So you can offer every customer something extra they didn’t even know they needed!

#2 smart idea to
run your business
Order smart, order only what you need
Why order more than you have to? At Falk&Ross you don’t need to! There’s no minimum order quantity on any style, so you can order exactly what your business needs. Keep your stock lean and your cash flow healthy: no heavy upfront investments, no shelves packed with dead stock, no markdowns just to clear space. You stay flexible, responsive and ready for whatever your customers want next. And here’s the best part, with optimised delivery across Europe your orders arrive fast, so there’s no need to overstock ‘just in case’. Whether you need one piece or one thousand pieces, you can count on a reliable delivery wherever and whenever you need it. Plus, while there’s no minimum order requirement, the more you order, the better your price gets. That means you can take advantage of volume savings whenever it suits your business. With Falk&Ross it’s not always about ordering more . It’s about ordering smarter and faster - exactly what you need when you need it. Got dead stock? Give it a second life Your unsold items don’t have to sit in storage or end up in landfill. Consider donating to charity or community projects, where clothing can make a real impact. Think to repurpose items for staff uniforms, samples, or event giveaways, turning surplus into visibility and goodwill. Collaborating with local artists or schools for craft projects gives garments a new story. Or add a whole new dimension to your offer by getting creative with upcycling - cutting hoodies into tote bags or t-shirts into accessories. It will help keep your business sustainable and community-minded.
With Falk&Ross it’s not always about ordering more. It’s about ordering smarter and faster
– exactly what you need when you need it.

Everything you need to know about...
Traceability in blank apparel
What can I see in the traceability data? Key details like country of origin, produc- tion sites, material journey and impact metrics such as water use and carbon footprint. It’s quick to check and easy to share. How does traceability give me a competitive edge? Buyers increasingly expect sustainability proof. Traceable products position you ahead of the curve, helping you win tenders and projects. Does it help with compliance and legislation? Yes. European regulations are tightening. Traceable products let you demonstrate supply chain responsibility and reduce greenwashing risks – impor- tant for you and your customers. What peace of mind does it bring me? You can be confident your products are responsibly made, supporting your customers’ sustainability commitments and reinforcing your reputation as a trusted partner. Can I find traceable products at Falk&Ross? Yes. While most brands don’t make their traceability visible, B&C does. And the majority of our other brands are committed to being accountable for their supply chain.
Why should I care where a blank T-shirt comes from? Because your customers do. Sharing the story behind a garment builds trust, differentiates your offer and gives you a competitive edge. What does “traceability” actually mean? It means every step of a product’s journey ‒ from cotton fields to finished product ‒ can be tracked through verified data. How does that help me as a reseller? You get reliable, ready-to-use information to share in tenders, pitches, or marketing. It shows you’re making responsible choices and helps your customers meet their sustainability goals. How is traceability different from transparency? Transparency is showing what you want people to see. Traceability is proving it with verifiable supply chain data. Does traceability make the products more sustainable? Not automatically, but it’s the foundation. You can’t improve what you can’t measure. How can I access the traceability information? Usually via QR codes on product pages or labels, or through platform links.

#3 smart idea to
run your business
Everything you need to know about...
The right fabric weight makes your prints pop and your customers happy!
PFAS in outerwear
Here’s the deal. Fabric weight isn’t just a number on a spec sheet, it’s your secret weapon for choosing the right tee (or hoodie, or polo, etc.) for the job. It’s a shortcut to style and durability, and importantly it hints at how best to decorate a garment. The 1-2-3 weight rule. A quick way to choose the right fabric for every printwear project. When you’re helping a customer pick a garment, start with this: do they want soft and light, all-season durability or a structured, long-lasting feel? Once you know that, use the 1-2-3 weight rule to guide your choice. Light (up to 150 g/m 2 ) Super soft, summer tees, ideal for promo projects and retail fashion. Best when feel and drape matter. Works well with ring-spun cotton and light blends. Ideal prints: soft-hand screen print, Direct to Garment (DTG) if cotton-rich. Mid (150-220 g/m 2 ) The sweet spot for promos, teamwear, merch and retail projects. Prints look crisp, fabric is durable. Works well with ring-spun cotton and cotton/polyester blends. Great for screen print, transfers and Direct to Garment (DTG) if cotton rich. The best all-rounder. Heavy (240 g/m 2 and up) A premium look that’s structured and durable, made for bold merch styles and long-lasting workwear. Dense surfaces support high-opacity screen prints and embroidery, perfect for designs that need to last. When you match the right style in the right weight to your customer’s purpose, whether it’s a soft feel , everyday durability or long-lasting structure, you boost your decoration results and customer satisfaction. That’s how you turn one order into repeat business.
What are PFAS? Synthetic chemicals used in water-repellent coatings. They’re great at keeping fabric dry but they don’t break down and can harm health. Why care in outerwear? Many jackets use PFAS-based coatings. These can leak into soil and water over time, raising safety and environmental concerns. Why were they used? PFAS made Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coatings super effective against water, oil and stains. The downside? They linger in the environment forever. So, what’s replacing PFAS in Outer- wear? A new generation of PFAS-free DWR coatings made with plant-based silicone, or hydrocarbon technology. They deliver the same reliable water repellence and durability without the toxic legacy. Are PFAS still allowed? Not for long. France bans them in textiles from 2026, Denmark already has, and EU-wide restrictions are on the way. Do PFAS-free jackets perform as well? Yes. Modern PFAS-free coatings have been tested to match traditional performance. Why offer PFAS-free products? Compliance made easy, safer products for customers and a stronger sustaina- ble brand image. Does Falk&Ross offer PFAS-free products? Yes. From trusted brands including B&C and Stormtech.

Fries and surrealism, Belgium’s recipe for happiness
34
Shirley Rupchandani, purchasing manager at Falk&Ross I was born in Senegal and traded it for Belgian rain at 18, all in the name of higher education (and excellent fries). Belgium turned out to be a delightful surprise: museums on every corner, music festivals that never sleep and loads of comic books. Even the street art is amazing. I am a big fan of Magritte. His surrealism is typically Belgian, always with a touch of humour. Working here has been an enriching experience. I am surrounded by friendly, multilingual colleagues and a unique mix of cultures that make the workplace dynamic and inclusive. Magritte Museum, Koningsplein 2, Brussels SHIRLEY’S TIP

How Falk&Ross helps you to stay compliant Sustainability without stress
You’ve heard it a hundred times: the textile industry has a big role to play in building a more sustainable future. But here’s the question: why should you bother? Because sustainability is no longer just the “right thing” to do. It’s quickly becoming the business- smart thing to do. And soon, it will simply be the only thing to do.
M aking sustainability efforts is not an option anymore, it’s a must. The European Union (EU) is rapidly introducing strict sustainability legislation and a wave of new regulations is set to reshape the market. Some laws are already in place, while many more will come into effect over the next few years. This means that resellers can only offer products that meet the new sustainability criteria. In practice, you will become jointly responsible for what you buy and sell. We’re here to help As an essential link in a long supply chain, Falk&Ross will help you tackle these new standards. How, you ask? The progress towards becoming a more sustainable partner means many things at Falk&Ross. It goes beyond choosing eco-friendly products. In fact, by improving the standards across our entire supply chain, we’re creating a sustainability ecosystem for both our clients and partners worldwide. And, because we’re committed to doing this in the best possible way, we’re currently pursuing the most
comprehensive sustainability certification available.
The first step: a common ESG Framework
Today, sustainability is shaped by ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) principles. To ensure all our brands under- stand and apply the European ESG stan- dards, we’re working towards a shared ESG framework. Currently, around 50% of our brands are compliant. The other half is working closely with our sustainability team to reach the same level. Implementing these standards across multiple continents is challenging, but bridging the gaps is a task our experienced sustainability team has confidently taken on. With tailored guidance and close collaboration, we’re getting closer to our goal every single day. By working together in this fast-changing sustainability landscape, we help your business stay fully compliant with EU regulations when you buy from us. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you posted on new developments, in Europe and at Falk&Ross.

Goodbye smartwatch, hello smart clothing? The smart future of blank apparel Blank apparel is still on the rise. That’s good news in these turbulent times with shifting markets, uncertain geopolitics and a fast-approaching technology boom. But that’s no reason to sit back and relax. The future is coming and we have to be ready. So how can we prepare (for better or worse)? One emerging trend in clothing is smart apparel, technology integrated in garments. This trend will apparently spread to blank apparel in the coming years. Are you ready for the next revolution?
A ccording to a study by market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 8.4% over the next decade, expanding from $ 7.8 billion in 2025 to $ 17.4 billion by 2035. Between 2020 and 2024, the industry grew steadily thanks to rising demand for custom clothing and the rise of direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands. Unbranded apparel gained significantly more preference among both consumers and companies Future Market Insights Inc. (May 2025) the blank apparel because of its practical, multifunctional use and easy personalisation options. Looking ahead to 2035, the industry is expected to continue its rapid expansion. One of the reasons for this positive outlook according to Future Market Insights, is the development of smart blank apparel. Smart apparel: what is it? Smart apparel refers to garments that integrate technology, such as sensors and connectivity features, to monitor or interact with the wearer or the
environment. In essence, smart clothing can offer the same features we now associate with wearables (smartwatches, fitness trackers and smart glasses) and typically falls into three categories: • Passive smartwear, which monitors information; • Active smartwear, which both gathers and responds to information; • Ultra-smartwear, which uses AI to interpret and fine-tune feedback in real time. Don’t hold your sweat MIT’s knitted textile research shows that enabling smart functionalities in clothing doesn’t compromise comfort or usability, a key factor for real-world adoption. Another big advantage lies in the garment’s full-body coverage, which greatly improves measurement accuracy. It also enables the tracking of vital organs and skin conditions, opening new doors for biofeedback
technologies. Can you imagine wearing a shirt that cools you down the moment you start sweating on a hot summer’s day? The future of clothing might just do that, and more.
What to expect in the near future?
In the near future, sports brands are likely to reach early adopters by embedding smart technologies into their collections. Both professional athletes and fitness enthusiasts are willing to invest in tools that enhance performance, making this a promising path to explore. Further ahead, continued technological progress will open up new opportunities for a wider range of consumers, expanding the market far beyond the sports segment. As Future Market Insights points out, blank apparel will undoubtedly benefit from the integration of smart clothing between now and 2035. That’s why we’re keeping a close eye on the market. So stay tuned and keep track of our updates.

My outfit = my computer
Some of the most exciting developments in smart apparel are happening at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 2022, researchers created a knit fabric with embedded sensors capable of recognising a wearer’s movements, such as walking, jumping or running. By 2025, they had gone a step further with the invention of an autonomous, programmable computer in the form of a flexible plastic fibre (a fibre computer). This can be woven directly into clothing to monitor health conditions and physical activity, even alerting the wearer in real time to potential risks. The technology is currently being tested in extreme conditions by U.S. Army and Navy personnel during a winter research mission in the Arctic to monitor their health in harsh environments. Some scientists note that the MIT programmable computing fabric may eventually become a gamechanger for everyday lives.

LET’S MEET IN BELGIUM MEET OUR CREW IN BELGIUM
A cultural cocktail with a twist of humour
Jeff Nyanguile, inside sales representative at Falk&Ross Before joining Falk & Ross, I organised high-end events in Belgium. What struck me most was the effortless warmth of Belgians, who remain refreshingly down-to-earth even in black tie. Belgium’s cultural blend is another quiet superpower: I’ve often worked with half a dozen nationalities in a single team, each adding its own flavour to the mix. And then there’s that wonderful Belgian self- mockery, the national sport, really. Only Belgians could turn self-deprecation into an art form.

How Falk&Ross is stepping up, with you in mind Shifting gears
The blank apparel industry is moving fast, and so are your expectations. After a major management shift in 2024, Falk&Ross hit the brakes, stepped back, and started listening to you, our resellers. Now, after a year of digging deep into reseller realities, we are starting to roll out a transformation designed to make your business run smoother, faster and smarter. Over the next year you should start to see the first results. Here’s what’s happening behind the scenes, and what it means for you.
W hen the new management team stepped in, Falk&Ross didn’t rush into big statements or shiny promises. Instead, we spent twelve months doing the underrated hard work: paying attention to what our resellers want. Surveys. Panel discussions. In-depth interviews. Field conversations. Real talks with real customers. The result? A clearer-than-ever under- standing of what drives you as resellers, what keeps you up at night, and what would actually make a difference. “It’s not about change for change’s sake,” says Manu Mathys, Marketing Lead at Falk&Ross. “We’ve listened carefully to what you really need, and just as importantly, to what you don’t. Now, we’re working hard to put those insights into action.” Service in a higher gear We’re currently building an entirely new e-commerce platform, one designed to
shorten the distance between clicking order and focusing on your own business. “We want to save you time,” says Mathys. “Our digital presence is getting smarter, and combined with our investment in local sales teams across Europe, we’re getting closer to our goal every day.” In short: less hassle, more selling. Logistics at top speed The Falk&Ross logistic chain is getting a makeover. “Behind the scenes, we’re optimising our entire order and delivery chain,” Mathys explains. “Better logistics don’t just deliver boxes. They deliver peace of mind.”

The goals are simple: • Reduce delivery times
• Increase stock quality and availability • Make fulfilment more efficient from warehouse to doorstep
wants to be the go-to partner for resellers who want to grow, without compromising on service, speed or sustainability. “We’re making ordering easier, faster and more straightforward,” Mathys concludes. “A renewed digital experience, high-performance logistics and a stronger sustainability vision are on the way. Together, we’re making the future of blank apparel easier, smarter and more sustainable. And that benefits everyone.”
Better logistics don’t just deliver boxes. They deliver peace of mind.
It’s the kind of invisible work that makes a very visible difference in your daily operations. Sustainable growth, step by step Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword, it’s becoming a requirement. Falk&Ross is getting ahead by building a shared ESG framework that helps brands adapt early, before legislation forces them. “Sustainability is a long journey,” Mathys says. “We want to lead with transparency and accountability, not wait until compliance becomes a problem.” For resellers, that means clearer information, cleaner supply chains and a partner who’s pushing the industry in the right direction. Tailored for ambitious resellers After a year of listening and months of restructuring, the message is clear: Falk&Ross

Coffee and pixels
Sustainability = teamwork
Project Manager Sanne Van Broeck is in full analysis mode for the new Falk&Ross website. To ensure a great user experience, first-class functionalities, greater simplicity and a fabulous design, she’s looking at the scope from all angles, together with different parties: developers, marketing and the various depart- ments at Falk&Ross. “Coffee helps to keep up the pace,” Sanne says. The current website is still up and running, but there’s a lot of activity going on behind the scenes. More news in our next issue!
Falk&Ross’ Sustainability Coordinator Camilla Zacchetti attended the Textile Exchange Conference in Lisbon. This year’s focus was the urgent need for our industry to adapt quickly to the changing climate. Her key takeaway from the conference? “I’ve learned so much about industry shifts and environmental impact. What stuck with me most is the idea that no company can go sustainable alone. Cross-company collaborations are key, not only between brands and producers, but also with distributors like Falk&Ross. We need to be the connectors within the supply chain. We have to bring sustainability discussions to our core business operations, in the same way as logistics, packaging, procure- ment and brand partnerships. A sustainable business starts with sustainable relationships, so let’s work together for a better future.”

Plant-powered prints
Your happiness is our business
We’ve all made progress in the field of sustainability, but what about environmen- tally friendly ink? Currently, most bio-based pigments are being developed for screen printing inks and dyes. However, digital printing is the next frontier for the textile printing business. That’s where Luna Perich Paglia comes in. She’s a strategic innovation manager at Spreadshirt (part of Spread Group, a global provider of customised fashion). Luna researches bio-based inks from organic, renewable sources. “At Spreadshirt, we were the first on-demand printing company to launch carbon-negative inks, giving us a competitive edge and pushing us towards a more sustainable printing structure,” Luna explains. “One of our most exciting milestones is our pilot project with Living Ink Technologies, where we tested Algae Ink™. This experience provided valuable insights and confirmed that innovation and sustaina - bility can go hand in hand. In large-scale production, black pigments from algae are carbon negative. Algae absorb CO₂
Gert Maes is travelling across Europe to visit Falk&Ross’s European branches. “I’m in a taxi in Spain as we speak,” he says. “I’m support- ing Falk&Ross with customer service strategy and implementation. We’re working hard to boost customer satisfaction and efficiency across all countries. It’s all about the reliability of our services and how quickly we can respond to customer requests. Our service desk and operational services are the faces of our business because that’s what customers experience on a regular basis.” Happy travels, Gert! Give us a shout if you have tips for improvement. Because when our customers are happy, we’re happy.
